Enter any website URL and get a plain-English XML sitemap score — 12 automated checks for sitemap discovery, a genuine sitemap file, well-formed XML, at least one URL entry, absolute URLs, same-origin entries, index resolution, the robots.txt Sitemap: declaration, lastmod coverage, lastmod freshness, the 50,000-URL protocol limit, and placeholder content that decide whether crawlers can actually use your sitemap. Heuristics are stated as heuristics throughout.
Privacy: we fetch the URL you enter to run the checks, but we never store it. The only things recorded are an anonymous pageview and, on a scored result, an anonymous "grader run" for our own stats. Public websites only.
What the checker checks
Can crawlers find and read it?
A sitemap at the standard path or declared in robots.txt, a genuine XML sitemap file, and well-formed XML.
Are the URLs usable?
At least one URL entry, absolute URLs, same-origin entries, index resolution to a real child sitemap, and the 50,000-URL protocol limit.
Does it stay current?
The robots.txt Sitemap: declaration, lastmod coverage, a lastmod within 180 days, and no placeholder content.
