Free Site Search Checker
Enter any website URL and get a plain-English site-search score — 12 automated checks for the search box, the results page, and the search UX that turns "I can't find it" into a sale. Heuristics are stated as heuristics throughout.
Privacy: we fetch the URL you enter to run the checks, but we never store it. The only thing recorded is an anonymous "grader run" for our own stats. Public websites only.
What the checker checks
Can visitors find the search?
A search box on the page, sitting in the header or primary nav (not footer-only), with a real form action and GET submission so results are shareable.
Can everyone use it?
A named input, an accessible label, autocomplete or suggestion signals — and a results page that returns 200 and echoes the query in the URL.
Does the search answer?
Visible results or honest no-results messaging, no soft-404 back to the homepage, and noindex on thin results pages.
