Free Hero & Above-the-Fold Checker

Enter any website URL and get a plain-English hero score — 12 automated checks for the headline, value proposition, call-to-action, trust signals, and everything else your first screen has to do in three seconds. Heuristics are stated as heuristics throughout.

Privacy: we fetch the URL you enter to run the checks, but we never store it. The only thing recorded is an anonymous "grader run" for our own stats. Public websites only.

What the checker checks

Headline

Does the headline say anything?

An H1 on the page, a value-proposition signal in the headline words, a sane length (4–20 words) — and no lorem or placeholder filler where the promise should be.

First screen

Is the first screen working?

A primary call-to-action above the fold, one clear ask instead of four competing buttons, a contact path visible early, and a sticky header that keeps the CTA in reach.

Trust & media

Does the hero look finished?

A hero image or video, no autoplay-with-sound ambush, a trust signal (stats, ratings, "trusted by") near the hero, and no full-screen overlay blocking first paint.
